Snip's Diary April 2008 Snip

Hello everyone, it's been a busy month. Well done to everyone who took part in the Easter Gymkhana and Easter Egg Hunt. I hear that the Easter Bunny had been out on the cross country course hiding lots of chocolate. It's a good job Flora hadn't been out on the jumps or all you would have found would be crumbs!

We've got a load of pictures of you all jumping buckets and racing up and down the school from the Easter Gymkhana. They'll be up on the Pony Club site soon for you to look at and download. There's a rather good one of me walking very carefully in the egg and spoon race.

I've got lots of news, first of all, our May Fair is due to happen on the 25th May which is a Sunday. Visit the May Fair page to find out more. It sounds fairly exciting to me, apparently there's going to be a musical ride but I think I'm a bit old to dig out my dancing shoes. I'll leave that one to Larson and Kismet, they can strut their funky stuff without me! I'll watch from a safe distance though, wouldn't want to miss that!

Secondly, we wave goodbye to Casper on Saturday. He's retiring to Ascot where the polo ponies live. He's going to be spoilt rotten I suspect, watching polo matches and eating grass all day. Life is such hard work!

Finally, we need to welcome PJ and Bingo to the yard! They're only babies so they've got a lot of learning to do before they can join in properly. May and Flora are all gooey over PJ in particular, he's going to grow up to be very handsome indeed. There's pictures of both of them (and me!) on the Pony Pages.

I thought I'd start writing the first chapter of my memoirs this week and let you read the article Janet wrote about me and the lady who won a Paralympic medal. I've been feeling quite old this week with PJ and Bingo running around, I was foaled in 1972 you know! I was put up for sale at the Guildford market as an unbroken three year old and Pat Barnes, Chris' Mum, bought me for the princely sum of £120. I came to the yard, younger than PJ is now, and I'm reliably informed I was worth every penny! To read the article that Janet wrote about me click here. There's an excellent photo of a much younger and more handsome me being ridden by Sophie wearing trainers! I am told that such things are not worn to ride nowadays, boots with a heel are much safer.

See you all next month, lovesnip's hoofprint
