Welcome to the Rocking Horse RDA - Riding for the Disabled in the Woking area
Registered Charity 1074212
Rocking Horse RDA Group was founded in 1996 and is based at Shey Copse Riding Centre, Pyrford, near Woking. We offer riding for the disabled under the rules and guideline of the Riding for the Disabled Association and specialise in assisting children with special needs (learning disabilities and some minor mobility difficulties). Three sessions of riding (45 minutes each) take place on Saturday afternoon, each with no more than 5 riders so that we can teach riders as individuals.
The Riding for Disabled slogan is “RDA – improving lives” and the Rocking Horse Team is pleased to see our riders benefit from their time with our four footed friends in so many ways – physically, mentally and socially.
All those involved with Rocking Horse RDA Group i.e. our Instructors, Helpers, Trustees and other Committee members, are unpaid volunteers.
We are grateful for the support we have received in recent years especially from Shey Copse Riding Centre and also from Air Products plc (European Office, Walton-on-Thames), Attlee's Country Store (Dorking), Autodesk (located at Farnborough), Christopher Robin Day Nursery (Woking), Surrey Community Action, the Army Tank Driving School at Bordon and Sanofi Aventis (Guildford).
